Gas Tech's series of portable instruments use several types of detectors, including catalytic oxidation for hydrocarbon detection and electrochemical for toxic gases and oxygen. These detectors require periodic calibration to compensate for normal degradation over the life of the sensor, and for any signal loss due to extreme exposures to compounds that might have a negative effect on the performance of the sensor. It should be noted that all detectors can experience extreme loss of sensitivity if exposed to certain materials (for instance, silicone for the catalytic detector). The instrument should always be checked if exposed to extreme concentration, suspected poisons, or contaminants.

Australian Standard

"Portable and Transportable gas detection apparatus."

Direct quote "Respense tested (or recalibrated) immediately before each occasion of use"

This standard applies to all manufactures and suppliers of gas detection equipment regardless of what the sales man has said. We comply with the Australian standards and advise our customers to follow them.

Warranty on our gas detectors take into account the Australian requirements and no special conditions apply.
